Abundantia Entertainment has made a confident start to 2026, building on the back-to-back success of two major Prime Video releases and unveiling an ambitious multi-platform content slate that spans streaming giants and theatrical releases. Led by founder and CEO Vikram Malhotra, the studio continues to strengthen its position as one of India’s most forward-thinking content houses in a rapidly evolving entertainment landscape.

The year began on a high note with the chilling thriller series Daldal, headlined by Bhumi Pednekar, followed by the visceral action drama Subedaar, starring Anil Kapoor and directed by Suresh Triveni. These consecutive Prime Video successes have set a strong tone for the studio, demonstrating its ability to deliver engaging stories that resonate with today’s screen-agnostic audiences.

Looking ahead, Abundantia is preparing a diverse lineup across platforms. The studio will make its Netflix debut with two high-profile projects: Maa Behen, a distinctive comedy directed by Suresh Triveni and starring Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Dharna Durga, and Ravi Kishan; and Family Business, a powerful drama series helmed by acclaimed director Hansal Mehta, featuring Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma. On Prime Video, the studio will release the romantic thriller Sundar Poonam, directed by Pulkit and starring Sanya Malhotra, which is currently in production.

Beyond traditional storytelling, Abundantia is making significant strides in technology-driven content. Through its dedicated Artificial Intelligence division ‘aiON’, the company has announced a strategic partnership with AI video technology firm invideo. The collaboration includes a $10 million commitment to establish India’s first AI-driven film studio, with plans to produce five AI-led films over the next three years. Additionally, aiON is co-producing Chiranjeevi Hanuman — The Eternal with Collective Media Network’s Historyverse, slated for a worldwide release later in 2026. This marks a pioneering step in blending technology with Indian storytelling traditions.

Vikram Malhotra, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Abundantia Entertainment, reflected on the momentum: “Great stories do more than just find audiences; they build enduring businesses, and that has been our thesis from the outset. Our investment in artificial intelligence through aiON and the partnership with invideo, coupled with a diversified slate across Netflix, Prime Video and theatres, is a direct expression of that belief. The reception to Daldal and Subedaar establishes the tone for everything that follows this year.”

He further highlighted ongoing collaborations, noting the continued partnership with Suresh Triveni and new associations with creators like Hansal Mehta, Pulkit, and Rajesh Mapuskar. “I am super excited about every chapter of the journey that 2026 holds,” Malhotra added.

Founded in 2013 by Vikram Malhotra, formerly COO of Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Abundantia Entertainment has built a reputation for developing progressive, insight-driven, and distinctly Indian stories for both Indian and global audiences. The studio’s track record includes critically acclaimed and commercially successful films such as Baby, Airlift, Toilet – Ek Prem Katha, Sherni, Chhorii, Ram Setu, and more recently Subedaar. It was also an early pioneer in Indian streaming with the Amazon Original series Breathe in 2018, followed by its popular seasons.

This balanced approach — combining strong commercial releases, meaningful narratives, and innovative technology investments — positions Abundantia as a studio ready to navigate industry challenges. By maintaining a platform-agnostic strategy, the company aims to meet audiences wherever they consume content while pushing creative boundaries.

As 2026 unfolds, Abundantia’s activities reflect a clear vision for sustainable growth in Indian entertainment. The integration of AI not only signals future readiness but also opens new possibilities for storytelling efficiency and creativity. With established directors, marquee stars, and emerging formats in its pipeline, the studio appears well-equipped to deliver consistent quality across mediums.

Industry observers note that Abundantia’s current trajectory highlights the importance of diversification and innovation in a competitive market. From emotionally resonant dramas and thrillers to AI-enhanced mythological tales, the slate promises variety that could appeal to both mass and niche audiences.

For a studio that has steadily grown from its early streaming successes to a multifaceted content powerhouse, 2026 represents a pivotal year. Abundantia Entertainment’s strong Q1 performance and forward-looking initiatives underscore its commitment to crafting stories that entertain, provoke thought, and endure — qualities that continue to define its journey in Indian cinema and beyond.
