Bhumi Pednekar Celebrates One Month of ‘Daldal’ Success
Bhumi Pednekar marks one month of Daldal with BTS video & heartfelt thanks to fans; creator Suresh Triveni hints at Season 2 plans.
Bhumi Pednekar marked a meaningful milestone on social media as her psychological crime thriller Daldal completed one month since its release. The actress shared an action-packed behind-the-scenes video that captured the raw intensity of filming, from high-stakes stunts to quiet moments between takes, offering fans an intimate look at the dedication behind the gripping series.
In her accompanying post, Pednekar expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming response the show has received. “It’s been one month since Daldal released… and I have spent these weeks feeling nothing but gratitude,” she wrote. “Looking back at these BTS moments reminds me of the chaos, the nerves, the long days, and the quiet in-betweens that shaped this journey. But more than anything, it reminds me of the love that came after.” She went on to thank viewers for their messages, edits, calls, videos, and DMs, noting that she had revisited many of them multiple times. “Thank you for opening your hearts to the show. Thank you for holding the characters with so much warmth. Thank you for seeing the effort, the intention, the honesty we tried to bring to every frame,” she added. “As artists, we hope silently that our work reaches people in the way we imagined it. With Daldal, that hope came true because of you.”
The post resonated strongly with audiences, with one fan commenting, “Thank you for this wonderful piece of work everyone all the actors and the entire team,” reflecting the widespread appreciation for the collaborative effort.
At the heart of Daldal is Pednekar’s portrayal of DCP Rita Ferreira, a senior officer in the Mumbai Crime Branch whose personal fractures and moral complexities drive the narrative. In a recent interview with Elle India, the actress opened up about the layered nature of her character. “Rita is a cop, but she’s extremely flawed, broken, complex, complicated. She has more shades of black than white, which isn’t how we usually see cops portrayed on screen,” Pednekar explained. “I got to play a hero while doing a lot of anti-hero things.” She also shared her admiration for the real Mumbai Police force, saying, “I think Mumbai Police is the coolest police force in the world. I’ve grown up hearing legendary stories about them. To play a character from within that world, and to explore the human side of what it means to wear a uniform, was really exciting.”
The show’s creator and director, Suresh Triveni, has fuelled speculation about a second season by confirming the team’s strong interest in continuing the story. Speaking to Mid-day, Triveni revealed, “We are ready to go for it. The writers have given three to four years working on the show, and they’re raring to go.” He added that the team is actively considering fan feedback from Season 1 while developing fresh ideas. “We have a couple of ideas. Also, I’m taking all the feedback from season one. We will take the right decision if everything falls in place,” he noted, indicating that a renewal will depend on aligning creative vision, audience response, and production logistics.
Daldal’s ability to blend taut investigative drama with deep character exploration has earned it praise for its authenticity and emotional depth. Pednekar’s committed performance — marked by physicality in action sequences and vulnerability in quieter scenes — has been widely regarded as a highlight. The BTS footage she shared underscores the physical and emotional demands of the role, from rehearsing complex fight choreography to capturing subtle psychological nuances.
As the one-month mark passes, the series continues to generate conversation online, with fans expressing hope for more stories centred on Rita Ferreira’s turbulent world. Whether Season 2 materialises will likely hinge on viewership trends, critical reception, and the creative team’s ability to build on the foundation laid in the debut season. For now, Pednekar’s message of gratitude serves as a reminder of the powerful connection between artists and audiences when storytelling feels honest and earned. With momentum building and the creator openly enthusiastic, Daldal appears poised for a potential second chapter that could further explore the moral grey zones of crime and justice in one of India’s most dynamic cities.
