Mumbai: Films inspired by real-life incidents often resonate deeply with audiences, and the upcoming crime thriller Dabish aims to do just that. Scheduled for theatrical release on April 3, 2026, the film presents a gripping narrative centered on justice, systemic corruption, and the resilience of an honest police officer.

Written and directed by Manoj Tripathi, Dabish delves into the harsh realities of law enforcement and political interference. The story follows DSP Rudra, portrayed by Aamir Malik, a fearless and principled officer who is transferred to a new city. From his very first day, Rudra is confronted with the grim truth of a compromised system.

The narrative takes shape when Sugni Devi, a distressed woman, approaches the police station to file a First Information Report (FIR) regarding her husband’s murder. However, her plea is dismissed by the corrupt officer Chhedi Lal, highlighting the systemic apathy prevalent within the department. Rudra’s intervention marks a turning point, setting the stage for a larger conflict.

The situation escalates when Sugni Devi returns with another complaint—this time about her daughter’s kidnapping. The case becomes even more sensitive as the prime suspect is Bhanu Yadav, the influential son of a powerful MLA. Played by Anant Saraswat, Bhanu emerges as a formidable antagonist, embodying unchecked power and intimidation.

As Rudra begins his investigation, he uncovers a deeply rooted nexus between political figures and law enforcement agencies. The film meticulously portrays how corruption operates at multiple levels, making justice increasingly elusive. With mounting pressure and threats, Rudra’s determination is put to the ultimate test.

Adding emotional depth to the storyline is Kalpana Saini, who plays Rudra’s wife. Her character provides a personal perspective on the challenges faced by families of upright officers. The film also features strong supporting performances by Ram Sujan Singh, Nilofer, Dimpy Mishra, Dev Shrichandan, Shekhar Jha, Pratham Sharma, Vinod Nahardih, Abhinav Goswami, Varsha Dhagat, Rupa Sedgulkar, and Sakshi Prajapati.

Shot across visually striking locations such as Bareilly, Almora, and Mumbai, Dabish promises a compelling cinematic experience. The film is further enriched by three melodious songs that enhance its emotional appeal without detracting from its intense narrative.

Director Manoj Tripathi brings his extensive industry experience to the project. Having started his career as an assistant director on the television show Agni Pariksha, Tripathi has steadily built a reputation for addressing socially relevant themes. Dabish stands as a reflection of his storytelling maturity and his commitment to highlighting pressing societal issues.

With a powerful storyline, strong performances, and a socially relevant message, Dabish is more than just a crime thriller. It is a thought-provoking exploration of courage, integrity, and the relentless pursuit of justice in a flawed system. The film is expected to leave audiences introspective while delivering edge-of-the-seat entertainment.
