Mumbai — Actor Heital Puniwala has spoken about his experience working alongside Vikrant Massey in the upcoming film White, describing the collaboration as a “masterclass” in acting. The film is inspired by the life and teachings of spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and aims to explore themes of spirituality, humanity and hope.

Puniwala, who has appeared in several notable films including Oh My God!, PK, Bang Bang!, Gabbar Is Back, Judwaa 2 and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, shared that the project immediately stood out to him because of its meaningful subject.

According to the actor, the film’s story left a deep impression on him from the beginning. Having followed the teachings of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for nearly 17 years, Puniwala felt personally connected to the project. When the opportunity to be part of White came his way, he believed it was something truly special.

White may sound like an intense title, but the subject is incredibly unique and powerful,” he said. “When I heard the story, I was deeply moved. The script feels fresh and touches the soul in ways that very few films manage to do.”

In the film, Puniwala plays a character that brings humor and warmth to the narrative. He described his role as the only comic presence in a story that otherwise explores profound spiritual themes. His character is responsible for bringing moments of laughter and lightness amid the film’s emotionally intense moments.

“My role is someone who always shows up to make people laugh,” he explained. “He takes care of Gurudev and spreads joy. It’s actually very similar to my real personality because I’m often the one cracking jokes and lifting people’s spirits both on and off the set.”

Puniwala also expressed admiration for his co-star Vikrant Massey, whose dedication and craft left a lasting impression on him. According to the actor, sharing screen space with Massey proved to be both inspiring and educational.

“Working with Vikrant was truly special,” Puniwala said. “He is not only a remarkable actor but also a wonderful human being. His authenticity is effortless, and he brings subtle nuances to every scene. Watching him perform felt like attending a masterclass every single day.”

Beyond his on-screen talent, Puniwala highlighted Massey’s warm and humble personality off camera. He described the actor as a supportive colleague who created a comfortable atmosphere on set and made everyone feel welcome.

Reflecting on his own journey during the project, Puniwala described White as more than just a film. For him, the experience became a deeply personal and spiritual process.

“Every film teaches an actor something, but White felt like a spiritual journey,” he said. “It taught me the importance of surrender — trusting the process and allowing emotions to flow naturally through the performance.”

He explained that the film encouraged him to approach acting with greater honesty and mindfulness. Rather than focusing solely on performance techniques, he learned to quiet his mind and connect more deeply with the emotional truth of the character.

Puniwala also revealed that one particular scene in the film pushed him beyond his comfort zone. The moment required intense emotional vulnerability and demanded that he let go of all inhibitions while performing.

“To prepare for that scene, I spent time in silence and reflection,” he said. “I avoided distractions, focused on breathing and connected with the emotional core of the character. It reminded me that growth as an artist often happens outside our comfort zones.”

As the film moves closer to release, Puniwala believes audiences will see a new dimension of his acting abilities. He describes his performance in White as subtle, introspective and emotionally grounded.

“I feel this film will reveal a different side of me,” he said. “It’s not a loud performance — it’s very internal and deeply emotional. I believe audiences will see a calmer, more evolved version of me as an actor.”
