Mumbai: Actor Manraj Singh has candidly spoken about the intense emotional and professional demands of portraying Harshvardhan in the ongoing television show Tumm Se Tumm Tak, produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah under Studio LSD.

The series has been winning praise for its layered storytelling and powerful emotional sequences, and for Manraj, stepping into the shoes of the complex character Harshvardhan has proven to be one of the most challenging roles of his career so far.

“ It is always challenging to play characters that have emotional depths,” Manraj shared. “Sometimes in your personal life you might be going through many things, but when you step into your character you have to give your 100 percent because that is what the producers, channel and the audiences expect from you.”

The actor highlighted the unique pressures that come with performing in a daily soap format, where preparation time is often extremely limited. “There are times when you get to know about a scene just 15 minutes before shooting,” he revealed. “Those scenes require a lot of emotional investment and control because you have to switch between two very different states of mind.”

Manraj described how actors frequently arrive on set in one frame of mind only to be asked to deliver a completely contrasting performance with minimal notice. “Sometimes when I reach the set early in the morning for a 7am shift, I feel happy, refreshed and energetic and then suddenly I am told that I have to perform a mental breakdown,” he explained. “Preparing for such scenes in just 15 minutes and delivering your best in one or two takes is tough as time isn't on our side.”

He emphasised that being part of a daily soap requires actors to remain constantly alert and ready to deliver authentic, high-quality performances that match cinematic standards despite the constraints. “As part of a daily soap, you've gotta be on your toes and nail a performance that's real and movie-level. But the feedback makes it all worth it — people notice and appreciate it,” he added.

Manraj also opened up about the patience required during the early phase of the project. There was a waiting period of nearly three to four months before his shooting schedule actually began, as the production team carefully built the show around its unique concept. “Being committed to the project, I had to wait,” he said. “When you are part of a daily soap, it becomes even more challenging because sometimes you want to give more to the character but there are many factors involved.”

Despite these hurdles, Manraj remains deeply committed to his craft and to bringing Harshvardhan alive with honesty and depth. He strives to give his complete effort in every scene, trusting that sincere work eventually finds its due recognition.

“I always try to give my one hundred percent to my performance,” he concluded. “Even if I don't get my due today, I believe someday I will. God is there and appreciation from the viewers make all the efforts worthwhile.”

Tumm Se Tumm Tak continues to engage viewers with its emotionally rich narrative, and Manraj Singh’s honest reflections shed light on the unseen dedication and resilience required from actors working in the demanding daily soap format. His words serve as a reminder of the silent hard work that goes into creating the compelling performances audiences enjoy every evening. In an industry where quick turnarounds are the norm, actors like Manraj continue to push their emotional boundaries to deliver memorable characters that resonate long after the episode ends.
