Actor Mishkat Verma is stepping into uncharted territory with his latest project, Tu Ya Koi Nahin, a new digital show produced under Director’s Kut Production and streaming on YouTube. Known for his versatile performances on television, Mishkat now takes on the exciting challenge of portraying two distinct characters, marking a significant milestone in his acting journey.

Reflecting on how he came on board the project, Mishkat revealed that he initially questioned whether he was the right choice for one of the lead characters. However, the unwavering confidence shown by creator Ishika Shahi and veteran producer Rajan Shahi ultimately convinced him to embrace the opportunity.

“When Ishika and Rajan Sir approached me with the story, I was genuinely surprised. Ansh was a character completely different from anything people had seen me do before. I even requested an audition because I wanted to ensure I could do justice to the role. Their confidence in me made saying yes an easy decision,” he shared.

The actor described the opportunity to play a double role as a dream challenge for any performer. According to him, such roles are rare and offer actors the chance to showcase a wider range of emotions and abilities.

In Tu Ya Koi Nahin, Mishkat portrays two very different characters—Ansh and Yash. While both share loyalty as a defining trait, their personalities are vastly different.

“Ansh is fearless, passionate, and fiercely protective of the people he loves. Yash, on the other hand, is innocent, humorous, and carries a lighter energy. The contrast between the two made the experience both exciting and creatively demanding,” he explained.

Beyond its intriguing characters, Mishkat believes the heart of the series lies in its exploration of unconditional love. For him, the story is about placing another person’s happiness and well-being above one’s own, regardless of the circumstances.

“The emotional core of the show is unconditional love. It is about standing by someone through every challenge and being willing to go to any extent for them. That depth of emotion is what drives the narrative,” he said.

The actor also highlighted how working on a digital project differed from traditional television productions. He described the experience as creatively liberating, allowing the cast and crew greater flexibility to experiment and refine their performances.

“Television often comes with certain restrictions, particularly regarding lead characters. Here, we had the freedom to explore and create without those limitations. There was no telecast pressure, and every scene was crafted with patience, detail, and care. It is a very contemporary show, and that gives it a unique identity,” Mishkat noted.

That creative freedom also brought emotionally demanding moments. Without revealing major plot details, he shared that one particular scene involving Yash pushed him beyond his comfort zone and tested him as an actor.

“There is an intense emotional sequence involving Yash that challenged me immensely. I am grateful to director Rishi Sir, whose patience and guidance helped me reach the emotional depth the scene required,” he said.

Speaking about his on-screen chemistry with co-star Priyanshi, Mishkat credited strong writing and mutual collaboration for creating authentic relationships on screen.

“I believe chemistry starts on paper through good writing. Fortunately, this project had a very strong script. Priyanshi and I shared a comfortable and collaborative dynamic, which made working together extremely easy and enjoyable,” he shared.

The actor reserved special praise for Ishika Shahi, applauding her dedication and commitment to the project. According to Mishkat, her passion was evident across every aspect of production and played a crucial role in shaping the show’s identity.

“I would simply say watch the show and expect the unexpected. It is not a conventional love story, and that is what makes it special. The positivity and support we shared on set have translated beautifully onto the screen,” he concluded.
