Prasad Athalye on Natural Bond with Sriti Jha in Oh Humnava
Prasad Athalye reveals how his real-life experience as a father and natural chemistry with Sriti Jha created an authentic father-daughter relationship on the show Oh Humnava: Tum Dena Saath Mera, produced by Studio LSD.
In the emotionally charged world of Indian television, genuine on-screen relationships often become the heartbeat of a successful show. Actor Prasad Athalye, currently essaying the role of the devoted father Ramgopal in the popular drama Oh Humnava: Tum Dena Saath Mera, has been receiving widespread appreciation for his convincing portrayal. Produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah under Studio LSD, the series has struck a chord with audiences, particularly through the tender and relatable father-daughter dynamic shared between Athalye and co-star Sriti Jha.
In a recent conversation, Athalye opened up about his experience working alongside the talented Sriti Jha, offering warm insights into how their on-screen chemistry developed so naturally. He spoke highly of his co-star, describing her as warm, polite, and highly cooperative. “It is a very nice experience working with the talented actress Sriti Jha. She is warm, polite and very co-operative. She is easily one of the best co-artists I have worked with so far,” he shared.
What makes their on-screen relationship particularly special is how effortless it feels. When asked about building such a believable father-daughter bond, Athalye revealed that it required very little conscious effort. “Frankly, we do not have to work very hard for that. Our age bracket helps. Further, being a father of two daughters myself helps. We therefore jelled very easily on screen in the father and daughter relationship,” he explained. This real-life parallel has clearly infused authenticity into Ramgopal’s character, making his emotional support for his daughter resonate deeply with viewers.
Athalye also acknowledged the professional growth that comes from collaborating with a seasoned performer like Jha. While he considers her talent inspirational and inimitable, he has picked up valuable lessons from her approach. “Her talent is inspirational but inimitable. Her focus and conviction of the character is also amazing. I could, however, learn a thing or two from her knowledge of the technical intricacies an actor should be aware of while working in a three, sometimes four, camera setup,” he noted.
