Rishabh Jaiswal Says Tu Ya Koi Nahin Feels Like Coming Home
Actor Rishabh Jaiswal is all set to entertain audiences with his role in Tu Ya Koi Nahin, the latest digital offering from Director’s Kut Production, helmed by Ishika Shahi and streaming on YouTube. For the actor, however, the project represents much more than just another role—it is a deeply personal journey rooted in long-standing relationships and creative trust.
Having previously worked on Ishika Shahi’s debut project, Jab Zodiacs Met, Rishabh felt an immediate connection when he learned about Tu Ya Koi Nahin. His association with the production house and veteran producer Rajan Shahi made the opportunity especially meaningful.
“The title itself is very intriguing. The moment I heard that Ishika was making a new project, I was instantly interested because I had been part of her first project, Jab Zodiacs Met. I feel a very strong connection with the production house and especially with Rajan Sir, who is like a father figure to me. Whenever a project comes from them, it feels personal—almost like something coming from home,” he shared.
Despite his enthusiasm, Rishabh admitted that he initially questioned whether he was the right fit for the role. However, the confidence shown by Ishika Shahi and Arun Sir convinced him to take on the challenge.
“When Ishika and Arun Sir narrated the story, I was excited but also surprised because the role was quite different from anything I had done before. I even asked whether they were certain about casting me. Their confidence made saying yes an easy decision,” he revealed.
In the series, Rishabh portrays Ayush, a character he describes as protective, compassionate, and strong-willed. While Ayush is a loyal friend who looks out for the people he cares about, he also possesses a rugged edge that adds depth to his personality.
“I would describe Ayush as a good friend, tough, and compassionate. He has a strong protective instinct, especially when it comes to his best friend. At the same time, he has a slightly rough side, which makes him interesting and layered as a character,” Rishabh explained.
According to the actor, the story revolves around love and emotional relationships but introduces a compelling twist that distinguishes it from conventional romance dramas. Without revealing major plot details, he hinted at the intriguing doppelganger element that adds suspense and complexity to the narrative.
“The central theme is love and emotional connection, but there is also a very unique twist. The story involves doppelgangers, with the lead character appearing in two distinct roles. That element keeps the audience engaged and adds an extra layer of intrigue,” he said.
Having spent several years working in television, Rishabh found the transition to this digital format refreshing. He noted that the storytelling style differs significantly from traditional television dramas, embracing realism and subtle performances instead of heightened emotions.
“I have worked in television for over three years, where storytelling is often dramatic with louder dialogues. This project is very different. It is subtle, raw, and real. The performances feel natural, and the emotions are authentic. Even the way it has been shot feels candid and contemporary,” he shared.
The project also challenged him creatively. One particular sequence involving danger, urgency, and responsibility pushed him beyond his comfort zone as an actor.
“There is a scene where I am trying to protect the heroine while escaping from the villain. I am rushing to get her to safety while using the information I have gathered. The intensity of that sequence and the way it unfolds made it one of the most challenging experiences for me as a performer,” he recalled.
When discussing the chemistry between the lead pair, Rishabh credited their natural comfort and camaraderie for creating believable relationships on screen.
“On-screen, they looked wonderful together. There is a natural ease between them that translates beautifully through the camera. That comfort helps make their chemistry feel genuine and relatable,” he said.
Rishabh also praised Ishika Shahi’s storytelling approach, describing it as distinctive and refreshing. He believes her passion, clarity of vision, and commitment to narrative innovation set her projects apart.
“Ishika has a very unique style of storytelling. Whether it was Jab Zodiacs Met or Tu Ya Koi Nahin, the treatment, narrative structure, and overall presentation feel different. Her passion and creative clarity are visible in every aspect of the project,” he noted.
As audiences prepare to watch the series, Rishabh hopes viewers will approach it with curiosity and an open mind.
“I would encourage everyone to watch the show because it has amazing characters, a very engaging storyline, and a unique storytelling style. It is different from what audiences are used to seeing, and I believe people are really going to enjoy the experience. I am excited to see their reactions,” he concluded.
With its emotional depth, compelling characters, and unconventional narrative, Tu Ya Koi Nahin promises to offer viewers a fresh take on love, relationships, and identity while showcasing a talented ensemble cast in a contemporary storytelling format.
