Sandeep Kapoor Opens Up About His Challenging New Role

Actor Sandeep Kapoor is stepping into emotionally uncharted territory with his role as Arvind in Oh Humnava – Tum Dena Saath Mera, produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah under the banner of Studio LSD. The actor reveals that the show's compelling narrative immediately captured his attention, making the decision to join the project an easy one.

Reflecting on his first interaction with the story, Sandeep shared that he was deeply moved by the emotional depth embedded within the narrative.

“I fell in love with the story from the very first narration. It is not only entertaining but also carries significant emotional weight. The characters felt authentic, and I found myself completely invested in the journey being told,” he said.

For Sandeep, the role of Arvind offered a unique opportunity to explore a character unlike any he has portrayed before. The actor describes Arvind as a layered individual whose emotional journey is both challenging and deeply human.

“As actors, we constantly look for roles that push us beyond our comfort zones. Arvind immediately stood out because of the complexity he carries. I knew this was a character I wanted to explore,” he explained.

One of the most demanding aspects of the role has been portraying a man in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. Sandeep revealed that preparing for the character required careful attention to subtle behavioral shifts and emotional inconsistencies that are characteristic of the condition.

“This is the first time I am playing a father who is experiencing the early stages of Alzheimer's. He may forget names, faces, and relationships, but he still experiences love, affection, and emotional connections. Capturing that contrast required a very specific approach,” he said.

The actor explained that the unpredictability of memory loss became a defining aspect of his performance.

“Some days he is confused and disconnected, while on other days he appears completely clear and present. Maintaining that inconsistency is essential to making the portrayal believable,” Sandeep added.

Fortunately, the actor credits the creative and direction teams for providing a clear and detailed character brief that helped him shape Arvind's personality and emotional landscape.

“The guidance from the creative team was incredibly helpful. Their clarity allowed me to understand the character's emotional state and build him with confidence,” he shared.

At the heart of Oh Humnava – Tum Dena Saath Mera lies a story about relationships, healing, and second chances. For Sandeep, understanding Arvind's emotional history became the key to unlocking the character.

“Arvind is deeply connected to his sari business. His memories may be fading, but his identity remains tied to his craft. Even when he struggles to recognize people around him, touching a sari triggers something familiar within him. It reconnects him to who he once was,” he explained.

The actor believes this connection to craftsmanship adds a touching dimension to the character, making his journey even more poignant.

Comparing Arvind to previous roles, Sandeep noted that the emotional fragmentation caused by memory loss makes this portrayal particularly unique.

“Most characters understand what they are feeling and why they feel it. Arvind does not always have that clarity. His emotions are often fragmented, and even familiar relationships can suddenly feel distant. That emotional uncertainty makes him very different from anyone I have played before,” he said.

Having previously collaborated with producers Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah, Sandeep describes the duo as an extension of his professional family. He expressed gratitude for being trusted with yet another meaningful role.

“I am extremely grateful to Prateek and Parth for giving me another opportunity with Tum Dena Saath Mera. Working with them always feels like coming home,” he concluded.
