After years of dedicating herself to her family and supporting her daughter’s flourishing acting career, Dr. Deepti Bhatnagar is now embracing a new phase of personal and professional growth. A former television anchor, wellness practitioner, beauty pageant finalist, and actress, Deepti’s journey reflects resilience, reinvention, and the courage to pursue one’s dreams at every stage of life.
Born and raised in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, Deepti completed her graduation in Mass Communication and began her career in television in 2004. She became the face of Uttarakhand Doordarshan, where she hosted the region’s first live television show. Over the next several years, she established herself as a familiar and respected television personality before expanding her experience through work with Sadhna TV.
However, life soon presented her with a different priority—motherhood.
Reflecting on the turning point in her life, Deepti shared, “I took a brief break from my career because of my first daughter, Aurra Bhatnagar, who is now an actor. Being a mother is a full-time responsibility, and naturally my focus shifted toward raising my child. During that period, my career took a back seat as I devoted my time and energy to my family.”
While away from the entertainment industry, Deepti explored a completely different professional path. Inspired by her husband’s background in wellness, she pursued higher education in Naturopathy and Yoga and successfully earned her degree. This led to an opportunity at Kayakalp, a renowned naturopathy and Ayurvedic hospital in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, where she further developed her expertise in holistic healthcare.
Her passion for wellness continued to grow, eventually leading her to specialize in acupuncture as well.
As her daughter Aurra Bhatnagar emerged as a promising young television actress and gained recognition in the entertainment industry, Deepti made another significant life decision. She relocated from Rishikesh to Mumbai to actively support and guide her daughter’s career.
“After extensive discussions with my husband and family, I decided to move to Mumbai to help shape Aurra’s career. For the last six years, my focus remained on ensuring she received the right opportunities and support. Now that she has established herself as a recognized television actor, I felt it was the right time to focus on my own aspirations again,” she shared.
Recently, Deepti stepped into an entirely new arena by participating in the prestigious Mrs India SR Queen beauty pageant, held in Sri Lanka. Although initially hesitant, she credits her husband Vivek and daughter Aurra for encouraging her to take the leap.
“At first, I was reluctant to participate, but both Vivek and Aurra motivated me tremendously. Their belief in me gave me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone and embrace this opportunity,” she said.
The competition proved to be an enriching experience. Deepti spent several days in Colombo undergoing professional training sessions, photoshoots, interviews, and ramp walk preparations before advancing through multiple rounds of the contest.
“The entire experience was incredibly professional and inspiring. Sri Lanka itself was breathtakingly beautiful, and every day brought new learning opportunities,” she recalled.
Her efforts paid off when she secured a place among the Top 10 finalists during the grand finale held in Mumbai. The event featured a distinguished judging panel led by veteran Bollywood actor Govinda.
One of the proudest moments of the competition came when Deepti was awarded the title of ‘Beautiful Eyes’, an achievement she describes as both memorable and rewarding.
Alongside her wellness journey and pageant accomplishments, Deepti has also appeared in television shows such as Nazar, Choti Sarrdaarni, Shubharambh, and Parineeti.
Now, with renewed confidence and a fresh perspective, Deepti is actively exploring more opportunities in acting and entertainment. Having successfully balanced motherhood, wellness, and personal growth, she sees this chapter as a chance to rediscover her own creative ambitions.
For Deepti Bhatnagar, the journey has come full circle—from supporting her daughter’s dreams to finally giving herself the space to pursue her own.
