In the heartfelt world of Indian family dramas, certain roles resonate deeply with actors, transforming work into something far more personal. Actress Lata Shukla, currently seen as Aprajita’s Bua in Oh Humnava—Tum Dena Saath Mera, has found exactly that kind of meaningful connection. Produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah under their banner Studio LSD, the show has quickly become a special project for the seasoned performer.

Shukla spoke warmly about what first drew her to the role. “What really drew me in is how emotionally rooted my character is. She is deeply connected to her family, and that purity of emotion made me relate to her instantly,” she shared. The emotional authenticity of the script struck a chord right away. “This character is very close to my heart, it actually feels like home,” she added. “The emotional depth and family bonding make it very special for me. The script is too good! Tum Dena Saath Mera has such emotional depth and strong family connection that it instantly touched my heart.”

Unlike roles that rely heavily on physical transformation, Shukla’s preparation for this character was primarily internal. She focused on truly understanding and living the character’s feelings rather than just performing them. “I focused on understanding her feelings and living those emotions naturally rather than just portraying them,” she explained. In the early days, she experienced a slight disconnect with certain aspects of the character, which left her a bit disappointed. However, as filming progressed, her understanding deepened, and she now genuinely enjoys bringing the role to life.

To maintain consistency, Shukla developed a personal backstory for her character — a technique she finds essential. “I always create a backstory in my mind. It helps me stay emotionally consistent and connected throughout the journey,” she said. “I believe in being honest as an actor. The relationships in the show are very real, so I just stay in the moment and feel every emotion genuinely.” This approach has allowed her to deliver performances filled with sincerity and depth.

The actress has been thoroughly enjoying her time on set, describing the atmosphere as warm and supportive. “It has been an amazing experience. The atmosphere on set is very warm and friendly. All the technicians, artists, and the entire team are wonderful,” she noted. Her comfort level stems partly from past collaboration with the same production house. Shukla had previously worked with them on Manmohini for Zee TV and had long hoped for another opportunity. “When I got this opportunity, I didn’t want to miss it,” she recalled.

She spoke highly of the producers, praising their genuine nature. “Prateek Sharma ji and Parth Shah are extremely genuine and honest people,” she said. The overall environment at Studio LSD feels creative, positive, and familial. “The environment at Studio LSD is so positive and creative that it truly feels like a family. I feel completely at home while playing my character. And honestly, if I get to work with such a team and such roles for a lifetime, I would always be ready,” Shukla concluded with evident appreciation.

Lata Shukla’s experience on Oh Humnava—Tum Dena Saath Mera highlights the importance of emotional alignment between an actor and their character. In an industry where daily soaps demand consistent presence and vulnerability, finding a role that feels like “home” can be profoundly rewarding. Her dedication to internal preparation and her emphasis on authenticity demonstrate the kind of thoughtful professionalism that builds credible performances and lasting audience connections.

The strong family themes in the show appear to mirror the supportive environment behind the camera, creating a harmonious space for storytelling. Shukla’s journey with the character — from initial hesitation to full embrace — reflects the natural evolution many actors experience when given rich, emotionally layered material.

As the series continues to unfold, Lata Shukla’s heartfelt involvement brings an extra layer of sincerity to the screen. Her words remind us that the best performances often come from places of genuine connection and shared values. In celebrating family bonds through her role, she also celebrates the real human connections formed on set.

For viewers and fellow artists alike, Shukla’s perspective offers inspiration about the joy of purposeful work. When a character aligns so closely with an actor’s values, it elevates the entire project. Her story is a beautiful example of how passion, preparation, and positive collaboration come together to create memorable television moments that feel authentic and deeply human.
