That’s why Seychelles is India’s strongest fort to break this encirclement.” India has committed to developing military infrastructure on Assumption Island, with the Indian Navy maintaining regular patrols to secure the region against potential threats, including Chinese vessels.

Beyond defense, India’s engagement encompasses substantial developmental support. “To strengthen Seychelles’ security, India has gifted Dornier aircraft, patrol vessels, and fast attack crafts. The entire coastal radar system of Seychelles runs with the help of India,” Vasandani detailed. Additionally, India has invested heavily in infrastructure projects, including the new Supreme Court building.
