Rhythm Sanadhya Raises Health Concerns on Lifestyle

Music director Rhythm Sanadhya has voiced concern over the growing trend of sedentary lifestyles, particularly among younger generations, attributing the shift largely to increased dependence on technology. Speaking on the occasion of World Health Day, which coincides with her birthday on April 7, she shared thoughtful insights on maintaining physical and mental well-being in today’s fast-evolving digital age.

Known for her collaborations with artists such as Shahid Mallya, Jubin Nautiyal, and Asees Kaur, Rhythm recently directed Har Safar Mein from Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 and Dil Jania featuring Monalisa Bhosle. Despite her busy schedule, she emphasizes the importance of prioritizing health and discipline.

Reflecting on generational changes, Rhythm noted a significant shift in lifestyle patterns. She observed that earlier generations were naturally more active due to limited access to digital entertainment. “In the 90s, stepping out was essential for recreation and social interaction. Outdoor activities were a part of everyday life,” she said. “Today, with everything available at the click of a button, people are becoming less active and spending more time indoors.”

She stressed that maintaining a healthy diet begins at home. According to her, home-cooked meals provide better assurance of nutrition and quality. “Consistency is key,” she explained. “When you maintain healthy eating habits regularly, it reflects in your energy, personality, and overall presence.”

Encouraging a balanced routine, Rhythm advised reducing screen time and reconnecting with nature. She shared a personal practice of walking barefoot on grass multiple times a week, which she believes helps ground the body and mind. “Taking breaks and spending time outdoors can significantly improve overall well-being,” she said.

Highlighting the importance of rest, Rhythm pointed out that inadequate sleep is a major contributor to early health issues. She recommends 8 to 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep, emphasizing that proper rest is essential for long-term health.

She also underscored the role of discipline in sustaining fitness. “Even on days when you feel low on energy, opting for a light activity like walking can make a difference,” she noted. “Consistency brings results, while skipping routines often leads to regret.”

Addressing the impact of digital platforms, Rhythm acknowledged the positive role of social media in spreading awareness about health and wellness. She observed that AI-driven content is making medical information more accessible and easier to understand. However, she advised individuals to verify information from credible sources before adopting any health practices.

Offering simple yet effective lifestyle tips, she recommended never skipping breakfast, staying hydrated, taking short walks after meals, and choosing stairs over elevators whenever possible. She also shared a practical habit she has recently adopted—parking her car farther from her destination to increase daily step count.

“Small, conscious choices in everyday life can lead to significant improvements in overall health,” Rhythm concluded, reinforcing the idea that sustainable habits are the foundation of long-term well-being.
