Two Major Drama Tracks in Gangaur Sequence: Samridhii Shukla
Samridhii Shukla reveals exciting details about the grand Gangaur track in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, including two major drama tracks involving Armaan and Abhira, authentic Rajasthani costumes, Ghoomar, and outdoor shoots.
Mumbai: The much-loved festival of Gangaur is once again set to bring colour, emotion, and high-voltage drama to Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Samridhii Shukla, who plays the spirited Abhira in Rajan Shahi’s long-running show under Director’s Kut Productions, is visibly excited as the team shoots this year’s grand Gangaur sequence.
Speaking from the sets, Samridhii shared how the entire unit is pouring heart and hard work into making the festival look authentic. “I am shooting the Gangaur sequence on the sets in the city. Because we are shooting Gangaur, and this has been a tradition that has been followed authentically in Rajasthani culture for the past seventeen years in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, we really work a lot on the textures and the fabrication of the costumes of Rajasthan. We are deeply rooted in it,” she said.
For the young actress, being part of these cultural tracks is both a learning experience and a blessing. “Shooting here has been a very peaceful experience,” she shared warmly. “It shows the love between Maa Parvati and Shiv ji — how we make idols from scratch, then come to the ghat, and it is all shot beautifully as we immerse the idols.”
Samridhii revealed that no detail is left to chance — from the intricate costumes and storyline to the smallest ritualistic elements, everything is carefully researched and executed. “We try to bring back the importance of Gangaur,” she explained. The team is even shooting outdoor sequences despite the harsh summer heat. “We come early, but it shows our determination towards the show,” she added with a smile.
The Gangaur track promises to be visually stunning and culturally rich. “We are really grateful to shoot outdoors because it looks very beautiful, and it cannot be complete without Ghoomar, so we will be doing all of that. The ladies will start the dance sequence, and the men will also join in,” Samridhii revealed.
While the festival brings vibrant colours, traditional music, and joyous dances, it will also pack in plenty of drama. Teasing what lies ahead, the actress dropped an exciting hint for fans: “And I’ll give you a little secret — there are two major drama tracks in this Gangaur sequence, both around Armaan and Abhira, and something involving Bua Ji as well. So it’s really something to look forward to.”
Samridhii expressed pride in the show’s consistent effort to celebrate Gangaur with authenticity for the past 17 years across more than 5,000 episodes. “We have been showcasing the Gangaur sequence for seventeen years across more than five thousand episodes, and it has been shot really beautifully this year as well,” she concluded.
For loyal viewers, the annual Gangaur episodes have become a much-awaited tradition that beautifully blends emotional family drama with the rich heritage of Rajasthan. This year’s sequence promises to raise the bar with its grand scale, heartfelt performances, and the added layer of high-stakes drama surrounding Armaan and Abhira.
As the cast and crew brave the summer heat to bring these scenes to life, their dedication reflects the same passion that has kept Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai connected with audiences for nearly two decades. With vibrant Ghoomar dances, traditional rituals, and two major dramatic twists on the horizon, the upcoming Gangaur track is surely going to keep viewers glued to their screens.
