Smriti Trailer Launch Highlights Women’s Safety and Justice

Mumbai, March 2026: The much-awaited trailer of the upcoming web series “Smriti” was officially launched in Mumbai, leaving attendees both captivated and deeply moved. Directed and produced by Ajay Ram under the banner of C.R. Films Productions, the series masterfully combines elements of horror, suspense, and a hard-hitting social commentary on women’s safety and the quest for justice.

At the trailer launch event, director Ajay Ram openly expressed his concern over the alarming rise in cases of sexual violence in society. He stressed the urgent need for stricter laws and harsher punishments for offenders, stating that only strong deterrence can prevent such heinous crimes. Ram made it clear that “Smriti” is not merely an entertainment product but a conscious effort to raise awareness and spark meaningful conversations around women’s dignity and justice.

The story of “Smriti” centres on a young woman whose life is irrevocably altered by a traumatic incident. Once vibrant and full of dreams, she becomes a victim of brutal circumstances. The narrative takes a chilling supernatural turn when she returns in the form of a spirit to seek revenge for the injustice she suffered. This unique blend of emotional trauma and horror creates an intense, unsettling atmosphere that promises to keep viewers on edge while delivering a powerful social message.

Lead actress Ayushi Tiwari, who plays the titular character, described her role as emotionally demanding and profoundly challenging. She shared that her character represents every girl whose world collapses in a single moment, yet finds strength to rise again — albeit in a different, vengeful form. Gaurav Singh, essaying a negative role, emphasised the importance of changing societal attitudes. He noted that cultivating genuine respect and sensitivity towards women is essential to eradicating such crimes from society.

During the event, a soulful track titled “Piya Sang Dori”, featuring Ayushi Tiwari, was also unveiled. The song beautifully captures the emotional pain and inner turmoil of the protagonist, adding another layer of depth to the series’ narrative.

The trailer launch was attended by several prominent personalities from the entertainment industry, including Yogesh Lakhani of Bright Outdoor Media, actress Madhumita Biswas, director-producer Vinod Nagar from Nivaan Entertainment, actress Lizza Singh, and music composer Masood Iqbal. “Smriti” boasts a capable ensemble cast that includes Ayushi Tiwari, Gaurav Singh, Shubhangi Sharma, Shikhar, Asit Kumar Pradhan, Rishabh Sharma, Hemant Sharma, Simran, Tanvi, Aman Chaudhary, and Ankit Agarwal. The series is slated to release soon on the OTT platform CRF Studios.
