Vikramm Bhambri Recalls Ranveer Singh’s Warm ‘Vikramm Sir’ Gesture on Dhurandhar Set

Mumbai, March 2026 – Making one’s Bollywood debut alongside a star like Ranveer Singh can be both thrilling and intimidating. For actor Vikramm Bhambri, who stepped into Hindi cinema with Aditya Dhar’s ambitious action franchise Dhurandhar and its sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge, that first day on set brought a mix of nerves and unexpected warmth — thanks to a simple yet memorable gesture from the film’s lead actor.

Vikramm appears in the second installment as Shakeel Commando, a rugged henchman in Rehman Dakait’s gang led by Akshaye Khanna. Recalling his debut experience, he admitted feeling overwhelmed. “It was overwhelming and a bit nerve-wracking. I had so many thoughts and questions running through my mind,” he shared.

However, the atmosphere shifted the moment Ranveer Singh addressed him respectfully. “Everything changed the moment Ranveer Singh addressed me as ‘Vikramm sir.’ I was blown away by that gesture, and from that point on, he became ‘Ranveer bhai’ for me,” Vikramm said with a smile.

He spoke highly of Ranveer’s personality on set, describing him as incredibly inspiring and approachable. “He’s like a best buddy to all of us, especially the gang members. He’s very meticulous about his craft and also about building camaraderie. Full of energy, always cheerful, and motivating everyone around him. He’s a true gentleman and very humble,” Vikramm noted.

The journey to landing the role followed the usual path for a newcomer. Vikramm auditioned in May 2024 and officially came on board in October 2024. “It was a big moment for me because this project marked my entry into Hindi cinema,” he said. Standing alongside established stars in his very first film felt both daunting and deeply fulfilling. “Every moment on set is etched in my memory,” he added.

In Dhurandhar, Vikramm’s character Shakeel Commando is portrayed as a tall, rugged “modern nomad” type — mostly silent, but whose actions speak louder than words. The actor explained that several gang members from the first part do not survive, making the remaining members, including Shakeel, more prominent in the sequel.

He also shared a light-hearted yet memorable incident from the Leh schedule, which highlighted the challenges of high-altitude shooting. “A few of us — Danish (Uzair), Rajat (Mukka), Naveen (Donga), and I — planned to take Diamox tablets before flying to help with acclimatization. I was confident I’d manage without it because I work out regularly and have good cardio,” he recalled. “Ironically, when we reached Leh, my SpO2 dropped below 80 on the second day, and I had to be put on oxygen cylinders, while Rajat, whom I was worried about, was absolutely fine and busy recording me!”

Looking back at the entire experience, Vikramm described Dhurandhar as an unforgettable journey filled with learning, excitement, and personal growth. “From my debut to working with amazing co-actors like Ranveer bhai, every moment has been special and will always stay close to my heart,” he said.

One of the biggest lessons he carried away from the project was the value of humility and team bonding. “The biggest lesson I learned is humility and the importance of building bonds with your team. His ability to stay grounded despite his success is something I will always carry with me throughout my career,” Vikramm concluded.

For a debutant actor, sharing screen space with Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, and the rest of the ensemble in a large-scale action film is no small feat.
