Harpal Singh Sokhi Shares Film Joy Ahead of Love You Loktantra Premiere

Celebrity chef Harpal Singh Sokhi, best known for his vibrant presence in the culinary world and currently seen on the popular cooking reality show ‘Laughter Chefs’, has expressed his excitement about his on-screen appearances as his second film, ‘Love You Loktantra’, gears up for a global premiere on Doordarshan’s DD National channel.

In a candid conversation, Sokhi reflected on the satisfaction that comes with seeing oneself on the big screen. “It’s always a good feeling to see yourself in films,” he shared, capturing the personal joy many artists experience when their work reaches audiences in cinematic form.

Sokhi, who made his Bollywood debut in filmmaker Bumpy’s ‘Bank Chor’ backed by Yash Raj Films, described his role in ‘Love You Loktantra’ as a small but memorable part. “Love You Loktantra is my second film, and in the film, I have played a small role. I am a bar owner where actor and comedian Krushna Abhishek is performing,” he explained. Due to prior commitments, he could not extend his involvement beyond the available time, but he remains pleased with the final outcome.

The film was shot during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, adding another layer of significance to its eventual release. Sokhi expressed happiness that ‘Love You Loktantra’ is being premiered on DD National and broadcast across the world, allowing wider accessibility to viewers both in India and internationally.

The chef-turned-actor also recalled his initial interaction with Krushna Abhishek during the shoot. “My experience of working with Krushna during that time was very limited because he was performing as a dance lead, and I had limited interaction with him during that part. And that was the first time I actually met him,” Sokhi said. He noted with warmth how their professional relationship has since evolved significantly, as the two are now co-stars on ‘Laughter Chefs’. “Little did I know that I would be doing ‘Laughter Chefs’ with him in the future. Our relationship definitely evolved so much since the time we met.”

Despite not being a full-time actor, Sokhi clearly enjoys the craft of performing. He described the unique magic of acting: “There is this magic in acting when you know that you are not actually playing yourself and convincing with your craft.” He fondly remembered his debut film ‘Bank Chor’, where he had a substantial 18-minute role that gave him meaningful scope to perform.

Sokhi also shared screen space with prominent actors Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi in ‘Bank Chor’. He pointed out that his character in that film showcased a serious side rather than a comedic one. “Whoever has seen the film knows that my character is not a funny one, but on a serious side,” he remarked.

The multifaceted personality admitted that he had to limit his acting commitments at the time due to his focus on launching food products in Australia. This balance between his culinary ventures and occasional forays into acting highlights Sokhi’s diverse interests and entrepreneurial spirit.

As ‘Love You Loktantra’ prepares to reach audiences on the national broadcaster, Sokhi’s reflections bring a personal touch to the project. The premiere on Doordarshan marks another milestone in his journey, bridging his identity as a beloved chef with his growing presence in the entertainment industry.

For Sokhi, these experiences on set — from limited but meaningful roles to building connections with co-stars — represent the fulfilling aspects of stepping outside one’s primary domain. His story resonates with many who pursue multiple passions while staying grounded in their core expertise.

The upcoming telecast of ‘Love You Loktantra’ is expected to draw attention not just for its content but also for the celebrity cameos and cross-industry collaborations it features. Sokhi’s contribution, though brief, adds to the film’s appeal, especially given his massive popularity among food enthusiasts and television viewers.

In an industry where versatility is increasingly valued, Harpal Singh Sokhi stands out as someone who brings authenticity and enthusiasm to every project. Whether in the kitchen on ‘Laughter Chefs’ or delivering lines in front of the camera, his sincerity shines through. As audiences tune in to DD National for the premiere, many will likely appreciate the chef’s understated yet impactful screen presence and his evident love for the craft of storytelling through film.

This latest venture further strengthens Sokhi’s position as a well-rounded personality who continues to explore new creative avenues while maintaining strong ties to his culinary roots. The joy he expresses about seeing himself in films is one that audiences can relate to — a simple yet profound appreciation for artistic expression and the opportunities it brings.
